The opening scene pans back from the unique Twin Rocks, in Rockaway Beach. The sound of children playing wiffle ball on the beach can be heard. Eventually POV falls back onto that beach, finding those kids (The Baker family), some of them celebrating their Sand Series Championship...
Their father leads them to the shorline, as they drop to a knee and give him their full attention. He shares with them his dreams of building a compound, and a few decades later, that family will be ever so grateful that his dream came to life...once the dead begin doing the same!
After the opening scene, comes a montage scene, 30 years later, of what day 1 of the apocalypse looks like. There is chaos everywhere...
With the opening scene at the coast, the compound in the coast range, the city is about 2 hours from the beaches, and another 2 hours East, would be Mt. Hood, where some of the Baker family find themselves trapped, when it all begins...

Season one is all about the mountain, and using the lake and fancy tree house to survive, above the dead! The plan is to get through the night, but tragedy does not escape the final moments of the opening episode. Such tragedy, leads to patience, and the hope that the compound cavalry will be strong enough to make it up the mountain. While dreading the idea of trying to make it down that mountain...
Season 2 kicks off with the aftermath of the mess in which Season 1 came to an end. There are also flashbacks that reveal what is happening with the Baker co​mpound family, and how ​they had to send a cavalry to Rockaway Beach, to he​l​p those who ran their family "Sand Series Hotel"...
In these flashbacks there will be revelations of another "secret" camp, somewhere on the outskirts of thi​s small beach town. The significance of that camp will come to play, in the later seasons...
Season 2 finds whoever is left on the mountain, looking to find a way to the Columbia River, where they can kayak their way toward the coast, where they can work their way to the compound. Wild burning fires make for difficult travel...
They camp along the Bonneville Dam, and later find allies making a living at the Multnomah Falls Lodge...
They eventually come across Columbia River pirates, and have to both run, hide and fight for their lives.
There is a scene near the city, involving a house boat and a family with infants. It's a devastating scene to witness, as they kayak by, unable to offer any help...
They make it to the Willamette River, under the St. Johns Bridge, and porting at Swan Island, where one of them use to work for UPS. Inside they find the supplies they need, and their choice of gassed up UPS trucks, ready to roll...
They get only so far in their UPS truck, seeing a mysteries "R" added to the end of each and every Forest Grove sign, they come across. They are now on foot, and making their way along Highway 6, into the Tillamook Forest...
Avoiding other people, they stick to the brush as they travel along. Slipping on a wet rock, an injury stall's their trip. They are getting so close! But they are not alone in this coast range, as some mysterious group of loggers appear to have themselves a plan. There is more going on in the coast range, than expected...
The mysterious "Grover" appears to have a team of loggers, combined with a large group of prisoners who are putting up a wall of logs, that become known as the Glenwood Camp, taking place off of Highway 6, just after entering the Tillamook Forest...
Glenwood camp is an old outdoor school, well equipped with what they need to start a new life, with a leader who wants them to rule the coast range...
In Episode 2.9 the compound family sends a team of over 100 people, with the supplies, the equipment and the brilliant plan to clear the beaches of most the zombies. This of course leads to the security of using the coast as a place of resource. They set up blockades in locations like this one, to prevent zombies from returning to the beaches...
Season 2 concludes with an epic battle in Beaverton, at the Nike World Headquarters, where a group of ruthless armed forces are causing havoc. This location will be taken, and become home to the Queen of Nike World...
